The Benilde-St. Margaret’s Softball team that has earned their way to the 2025 MSHSL State Tournament! On May 29th the #2 seed Red Knights defeated # 1 seed DeLaSalle Islanders by a score of 5-2 to advance to state for the 7th time since 2016.

In the 2025 Class 3A, Section 6 Tournament the Red Knights defeated Minneapolis Edison (17-0) in the first round, Westonka (7-5) in the quarterfinal game and Orono (9-3) in the semifinal contest before sinking the Islanders (5-2) for the championship game.
Junior Elle Porisch pitched 5-2/3 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs to pick up the victory. Junior Mallory Held tossed the final 1-1/3 innings hitless to ensure the win.
Porisch and sophomore Mae Breunig had 2 hits apiece while seniors Brooklyn Riley and Madeleine Murry, Held and sophomores Cecilia Hanson and Mae Breunig each drove in a run.
